Oh Boy! Life story is a long one like most I am sure (yeh, done that most will say). Married Lynette Hunter from our class, had two daughters. Marriage lasted 10 years. Then in another relationship for 10 years. Then two 3 year long distant relationships. Other relationships less than three years sandwiched in-between. Been a CPA since 1982. Done just about everything from teaching, government work, industry, self employed, large firm for 8 years, smaller firms as well. Current interests in the fraud area so studying for the CFE exam in 2010. At my age now trying to figure out whether its worth a new career path or just saying "hell with it" and retire. Not sure of the outcome. Stock market will determine. Hobbies include a lot of biking in the summer (rode over 1,600 miles this summer and own nine bikes). Usually downhill ski out west at least every other year. Lettered in high school cross country skiing. Golf when everyone forces me to the driving range for a crash course. Home improvements is like a second career now after buying my parents house in SLP in Westwood Hills built in 1955. Also feeding the Nature Center animals every night when they come out of the Nature Center and Party hardy on the Mpls Golf course like in the movie "A Night At The Museum". What else? Looking forward to meeting classmates at the reunion. And thank you, thank you, thank you to those organizing the reunion. Done work in the Shrine years ago and those kind of people do not get thanked enough! |

Boy, the past forty years... what have I been doing? Well, I spent the 1970's working generally in the health/social service industry. I loved much of the work and had experiences that I never could have imagined. I admire greatly the people who work with our challenged and ailing population. For those of you that knew that I'd had a cancer, Hodgkin's disease, I'm doing well, but had some frightening years in there. During that time, actually in 1971, I met my present companion, and best friend Ross (Roselyn). We're now married (1984) and live in Minneapolis near Cedar Lake. We have our own graphic design business that we've had for over twenty-five years. I worked at the St. Paul Companies, an insurance corporation home-officed in St. Paul for five years. I had a short stint doing art direction at Dorn Public Relations and moved on to join Ross in forming our present design firm, MartinRoss Design. We've had several people who have stayed with us over the years. Two exchange students, one from Germany, Susanna, in 1999 who is now a doctor, and a French girl, Clemence, who is finishing her studies in Law. We have traveled a lot to spend time with them and they in turn have returned to visit. We enjoy them and their families. There are a couple others that in a way have adopted us. Mirella from Switzerland, and Petra from the Czech Republic who I gave away in marriage. We enjoy travel and look for any opportunity to head out. My past-times include travel, of course, and along with that, a love of food. I enjoy reading, music, cooking and Ross and I like walking, exploring Minneapolis neighborhoods. Ross and I also love very much spending time with friends. Lessons I've learned and proud moments are strung throughout, too numerous to mention. The biggest lesson learned however, is how humbling it is to realize how remarkably fortunate I have been to have the opportunities and the loved ones that have surrounded me from birth. It's a lottery won many times over. Dreams? To be able to continue to visit the ones I love and embrace them until the day I die. |

Comment: I moved to LA in 1975 and met my husband, Steve, in 1981 and have never left. We have 5 wonderful children, Jacob- 27 (on Sept. 24th watch his new series called "School Pride", about fixing our broken schools in the inner cities of America on Friday nights on NBC, Miles-25, Molly-23, Hannah-22, and Leah-17. I have loved living near the beach but still have fond memories of St. Louis Park High school and so many of you. Years ago we brought all of our children up to the State Fair and they still talk about it! I wish I could be with all of you this year but unfortunately, I wont be able to make it. Have a great reunion and best wishes to all of you! |
