We were together for a number of years, he was the love of my life.  

Because of alphabetic proximity (Schl-Shi) I sat next to Steve in a bunch of classes including enduring Mr. Zanna's (Black Pete's) PE class.  "You could be in Viet Nam, you know." Folks are correct about his smile.  A good guy and fast on the track. 

Steve and I were great friends in school. We shared many classes together. We always seemed to get teamed up in phy. ed. He was a great athlete and a really nice kid. He had an infectious smile. I'll never forget him.
