Comment: The picture is from my daughter Sadie's college graduation in 2009. After graduation she moved to Baltimore where she is working for an engineering firm. I have two other children Dan and Jennie. Dan is a struggling writer in Sacramento and Jennie took her UC-Berkeley degree and is living her dream on a ranch in the Montana high country. My wife Heidi and I have been married for nearly 27 years and have lived in Napa, California since 1990. I am an internist working for Kaiser Permanente and for the last 14 years have been Assistant Physician in Chief of a 450 physician group headquartered in Vallejo. Starting in January, 2010 I will be transitioning into a new job as Clinical Director of the Kaiser Sacramento Call Center. Heidi is a hospice nurse and author. We both enjoy regular hikes in the beautiful Napa Valley with our much loved german shepherd,  Louie.

40 years....

I smile as I sit and contemplate the years in SLP and the years since.  There were MANY great times and laughs in SLP.  I had a very good time in school…the Proms, Sadie Hawkinson Dance, football games, tearing around Park in my mother’s convertible and generally being normal.

Since 1970 life has been good.  I attended Normandale but left before graduation as I thought I would be drafted.  I was not drafted so I went back to the U of M... again not complete.  1975 I formed a partnership buying and selling natural foods. We started with 19 stores and about 30 products and four year later and over 100 outlets and 300 products I moved on. 1976 a girl from SLP, Mary Lamb, and I were married.  Some may remember Mary and I dated in high school. We dated for seven years before we married. So I guess we are one of the most “together couples” …

In 1981 our son, Christopher was born and 3 years after Christopher, our daughter, Maggie was born.  When our children were born Mary and I wanted a life where she could be home for the children – we did accomplish this and I am very grateful.

Christopher became a carpenter after working on fabulous log homes in northern Minnesota. Maybe you have seen John Anderson Log Home in Walter, MN? He is very good at his trade and has worked on several incredible homes and projects.

Maggie graduated from CSU, Colorado State Univ. with a degree in Animal Science four years ago. Since graduating she spent one year in a vet clinic in St. Paul. Maggie must have much of my blood for travel as she has visited many areas of the world and now is in Alaska for the second time.

1984 I joined a very small manufacturing company located Brooklyn Center. Today I still work for this company and currently I am the international manager. It has been a great job from my selfish perspective. I have traveled almost the entire globe and learned so much about how great people really are. The negative is that I have missed much in my family life. But I must say… I have some very nice photos. Photography has occupied much of my time and I justify the abnormal expense by NOT smoking or drinking…well some wine occasionally.

It will be great fun to see everyone.

I have been living on the East Coast since graduating high school. I went to Syracuse University in upstate New York, where I met my husband. After I graduated, we settled in Philadelphia, where our two sons were born. My husband’s work brought us to Washington, D.C., 21 years ago, which was a wonderful move and provided an exciting environment for us as a family. I don’t get back to Minnesota as often as I would like, but I do enjoy keeping up with all things Minnesota by watching state politics from Washington and seeing Coen brothers movies. Are there other St. Louis Park natives living in the D.C. area? I’d love to hear from you. I’m looking forward to the reunion—thanks to the organizers for putting this together.
