August 22, 1952 HR manager/consultant (retired) Married 1

This is a great website. Thanks to the reunion committee for all of their hard work and creativity.

Forty years ago I was preparing to go to the U of M and I graduated six years later with degrees in child psych, social welfare and a teaching certification. I worked for a few years in child development, got married, and then returned to the U of M for graduate school in Industrial Relations (HR and labor relations). Following grad school, my son was born, and after years of working as a HR manager and consultant, and trying to juggle family and career, I was fortunate to be able to leave the corporate world and become a stay-at-home mom. That was the best job ever!

Recently my son graduated from St. Olaf College and my husband and I are thrilled to have him back home. I currently work with a friend in catering and also with my brother for an inner city youth leadership foundation. Life is good. I am so looking forward to seeing my classmates at the reunion.

January 19, 1951 Retired Senior Metrologist Married 1
Since graduation I was employed as a lead inspector supervisor at McCourtney Plastics from 1970 thru 1982. I left McCourtney Plastics and for the last 28 years I have been employed as a Senior Metrologist for ADC Telecommunications.
I guess along the way I attended Century College to further my education.
My wife and I retired in Branson, Missouri in 2013.
I will be sixty four in January with little gray hair and I'm not a member of the baldies club.  Life has been good to me since graduation. It's hard to believe how the years have gone by.
We have four Ragdoll cats that keep us amused.
My hobbies include hiking, biking, home improvement projects, landscaping and Twins baseball.
Please give me a call or email me. I would enjoy talking with you.

June 08, 1952 art teacher, massage therapist, artist Married
After High School I spent 6 months in Israel.
I then got my BA in Studio Arts and Hebrew, and Masters (ABD) in English as a Second Language, while working as teacher and director of the Temple Israel Hebrew School.  I also married and divorced in the '70's (no kids).

I returned to Israel in the summers of '81 and '82 to paint landscapes in and around Jerusalem.
I was accepted to the International Artists' Association and have several exhibitions.  You can view some of my work, if you want, on Facebook.

I learned massage therapy in 1996-97, and have a private practice at home.

In 1998 I was hired as an art therapist in an institution for severely brain-damaged children (ages infant to young adults)

That same year, I met and married my husband Rabbi Yehonatan Chipman (he also works as a translator of academic Judaica).
I get to be step-mother now to his 4 grown children and Grandma to his 2 little granddaughters!

I've been able to visit my family in the States every year or 2--this year it will be in April--so I won't be able to attend the reunion in Aug.
It's been fun going through the profiles and seeing familiar names!
So if you get to Israel--look me up!

July 27, 1952 CoreLogic-First American Transportation Services Credit Research Married 2
My husband, John (SLP '69 grad) and I moved to beautiful Lake Havasu City Arizona four years ago. Our children still reside in Minnesota. Making plans for the reunion is not easy as we are expecting our first grandchild in October and plan to spend as much time as possible in Minnesota at that time. It would be fun to attend and reconnect with friends that we kept in touch with after high school and all those that bring back fond memories of school days in SLP.

Peter Choukalas
February 07, 1952 Retired Married 2
I am likely 2 years behind and 2 bucks short with this as I was not around for the 40th reunion. My wife, Beth, and I have been married 40 years, and have 2 sons, David, and Philip. I retired from Medtronic after 30 years in June, 2010. In my time there, I was a finance person, a quality and regulatory (read FDA) person, and clinical support person for cardiologists, electrophysiologists, and patients. I do occasional work for Medtronic in Clinical Support. It's great to control the workload for a change, better yet to work with our patients. I found that long careers with a good company involve a little talent, a little luck, being in the right place at the right time, and being turned down for positions that weren't exactly right.

What goes around comes around. In Sept, 2013, I will be beginning my 6th year volunteering with the Adult Options GED Program offered at St. Louis Park High School. In the past 6 years, nearly 325 students have graduated with their GED's. I work with students who just can't remember math after 10, 20, or 30 years. If you are ever around the high school on Tuesday or Thursday nights during the school year, stop in. I am teaching in room 237, the only room that has been painted since 1957. I took a Business Law class in that room in 1968-69. The rest of the school is about the same.
