St. Louis Park Class of 1970
“Community Service Volunteer” Scholarship
In early 2001, the St. Louis Park Class of 1970 "Community Service Volunteer" Scholarship was established and endowed by the graduating class of 1970. The criteria for this scholarship requires that a graduating St. Louis Park senior has contributed significant volunteer work in the community. Applicants must submit a letter of reference from each service organization they want considered. In addition, applicants must submit a one-page letter stating why they choose to do their specific community service work, and for what purpose this scholarship will be used. Applicants must have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA (un-weighted), and must attend an approved post-secondary education.
This scholarship program is administered by the St. Louis Park Dollars for Scholars organization and St. Louis Park High School. Scholarships are awarded in a ceremony every June in the St. Louis Park High gymnasium with proud teachers, recipients and their families in attendance.
2020 will mark the TWENTIETH consecutive year that St. Louis Park Class of 1970 awards a $500 scholarship to an outstanding graduating senior based on significant COMMUNITY SERVICE VOLUNTEER work. This totals $10,000 in scholarships we will have granted in the past twenty years. This money was raised from previous reunion profits.
